10 Ways to Get Your Life Together Before the Holidays

The holidays are coming soon and while some of us see this as the most wonderful time of the year others see it as the most stressful time of the year. Trust me I have been on both sides of this! What I have learned though, is in order to prepare for a great holiday season, I have to get my life together in the fall!

Here are 10 things that you can do starting today to get your life together before the holiday season is in full swing:

  1. Work it out, girl! I have made a goal for myself to make it to at least 3-4 classes a week before the end of the year. It helps me to relieve some pre-holiday stress and is a great mood booster!

  2. Make a list. I am the queen of trying to remember things and yet never writing them down. Why?! Make a list and even categorize it (work, kids, errands, weekend etc.). This will help you prioritize what needs to be done and gives your brain a break from trying to remember all those little things.

  3. Update your calendar. How many times do you look around and say “wait, is that THIS weekend?!”. Tis the season to put it on the calendar! It will put you at ease knowing that you have it down and your family is all aware.

  4. Clean out that fridge. With the holidays right around the corner, you do not want your out of town guests pointing out that your milk expired a month ago! Plus you will need the room in that fridge if you are hosting.

  5. Know where your finances are. Look over your accounts to make sure you are where you think you are before that holiday shopping.

  6. Take time to go through that stack of mail. Better yet, go paperless and put all your bills on auto-pay before the holidays start. It’s 2018 if not now then when?

  7. Change out your purse. Holiday shopping is basically here. Clean out your purse or change it to something lightweight and easy to shop with.

  8. Keep hydrated. I know this may seem random but with all the events coming up, it is important that you stay hydrated to keep you healthy and focused.

  9. Clean out your car. Trust me… if you have out of town guests or if you are planning on hitting the sales on Black Friday, you will thank me for this tip!

  10. Soak it all in. Life is moving quickly around us… Like how is it almost 2019?!? Go to the High School football games, make your grandma’s favorite fall recipe, cuddle up and watch that movie with your family because it is all just moving too quickly and the best way to get it together is to soak in the little moments.

Do you have a life hack to get you ready for the Holiday season?! Let me know! I hope this helps you soak in all that is fall and be better prepared for your holiday season!
